Ready to Roll: Stock Trucks Available This Fall

Custom builds are worth the wait — but sometimes a department doesn’t have a wait in it. A totaled rig, a failed inspection, or a budget that has to be spent this fiscal year all call for the same answer: a truck that already exists. That’s what our stock program is for. Here’s a look at what’s on the lot right now.

On the lot this fall

  • Ford Rescue (Stock #UT258) — new-build rescue on a Ford chassis.
  • Freightliner M2 112 Tanker (Stock #CT215) — 3000 gallon tank with a 500 GPM pump, built for the rural water shuttle.
  • 2027 Freightliner M2 Commercial Pumper (Stock #CP268) — 1250 GPM pump, 1000 gallon tank: a full first-out engine.
  • Rosenbauer Commander Aerial (Stock #AR269) — 2250 GPM pump and 400 gallon tank on Rosenbauer’s custom Commander chassis.
  • CP230 4-Door Commercial Pumper — 1250 GPM on a Freightliner M2-106.

Inventory moves, so check the current stock list for what’s still available and what’s arrived since this was written.

Why buy from stock?

  • Delivery in weeks, not years. Industry build times for custom apparatus have stretched — a stock unit skips the line.
  • The price is the price. No surprises from steel, chassis, or component cost changes between contract and delivery.
  • See it before you sign. Walk the truck, pump it, drive it — then decide.
  • Still a Heiman build. Stock trucks come out of the same Sioux Falls shop, with the same service and support behind them.

Why Copolymer Poly Water Tanks Outlast Steel

The water tank is the one component on a fire truck that works every single call — and for decades, tanks were also the component most likely to quietly rust from the inside out. That’s why modern apparatus has moved to copolymer polypropylene, and why we fabricate our own tanks in-house. Here’s what makes poly […]

Fall Apparatus Maintenance: A Winter-Readiness Checklist

In the upper Midwest, the first hard freeze doesn’t send a warning. October is the month to get every rig in the fleet winter-ready — because a frozen pump or a dead battery bank discovered at 2 a.m. in January is a preventable emergency. Work through this checklist truck by truck. Water and pump systems […]

Fire Pump Ratings Explained: GPM, PSI, and What Your Department Actually Needs

Every spec sheet leads with two numbers: gallons per minute and pounds per square inch. But what do those numbers actually tell you — and how much pump does your department really need? Here’s the short course. GPM is volume, PSI is pressure Gallons per minute measures how much water the pump moves; pressure is […]
