Heiman Fire Equipment was founded in 1947 by Jack B. Heiman, and has been family-owned and operated locally ever since. Building on its modest beginnings of selling fire extinguishers to the local farming community in Ashton, IA, the company has evolved into a multi-faceted company with nationwide fire equipment sales, fire truck manufacturing, service, and refurbishments, plastics fabrication, and industrial sales and service.
Heiman Fire Equipment finished construction on a brand new manufacturing facility and office in Sioux Falls, SD in 2017. This 39,094 square foot, energy efficient building features a 27,332 sq. ft. production area, two-story office, state of the art downdraft paint booth, indoor pump test tank, SCBA and electronics testing & diagnostic center, a truck delivery showroom, customer lounge, and much more.
A 1,700 sq. ft. showroom lets departments walk every component of their new rig with their rep — plus radiant floors, a two-story climbing wall and a gym for the crew.
In 2025, G3 Fire expanded its capabilities with the addition of a 40,000-square-foot facility designed to support continued growth and operational excellence. The building includes a 6,000-square-foot warehouse serving the entire Heiman campus, a 4,000-square-foot office and conference area, a second-floor break room, and dedicated media production space—creating a modern environment that supports both employee collaboration and customer engagement.
At the heart of the facility is a 15,000-square-foot production floor equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing technology. The space is designed to enhance efficiency, precision, and quality throughout the production process, providing the capacity and capabilities needed to support G3 Fire’s continued growth.
Heiman's Verified Independent Service Provider (ISP) facility offers NFPA 1850-compliant turnout gear cleaning, decontamination, inspection, and repair services. Featuring state-of-the-art CirculAir equipment, RotoDecon systems, certified repair capabilities, and custom canvas fabrication, the facility helps departments protect their investment and keep gear service-ready.
Ron Heiman worked for the family company as he was growing up and began calling on fire departments throughout Minnesota and Iowa in 1989. In 2008 Ron moved from Sales Manager to President of the company.
Jon Larsen serves as General Manager for Heiman Fire Equipment and has been in the Fire Industry for over 30 years. There isn't much that Jon hasn't handled when it comes to manufacturing fire apparatus.
Nicholas brings his hard-work mentality and hands-on experience as a former Marine to lead our outside sales team to ensure we are providing the best products and service from the best vendors in the fire industry.

JIm has been with Heiman for 23 years he's been involved with apparatus and equipment sales during his time, there isnt a state fire school he's missed. Definitely a road warrior, you'll likely meet JIm in near your home town doing a demo or showing apparatus.
Scott "Buzz" Oyen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the fire apparatus industry to the Heiman Fire team. He is here to help customers from design to delivery.
Don is here to help our customers through the Heiman Fire truck building and delivery process. Don has been a part of the Heiman team since 2019 and started in our manufacturing shop working on builds and applying graphics .
Cory's experience and knowledge is essential to the Heiman Fire team as he leads our shop when it comes to building Heiman trucks or taking on repairs and fabrication.
Paula helps pull everything together with assisting all our staff with one thing or another over the past 22 years. She is usually the first point of contact when calling into the office and is always on top of finding the right solution.
Tyler is another of the Larsen family who has been a part of the Heiman family for over a decade. With wildland firefighting experience and working in many different areas of Heiman, there's not much Tyler can't help with.

Neil has been involved in fire apparatus marketing since 2007, with expertise in digital marketing, web design, photography, video editing, and motion graphics. He also gained valuable experience working for one of the nation’s largest John Deere dealerships. His diverse skill set helps support the marketing and business initiatives of Heiman Fire.
Kiela brings of breadth of skills that are used to help us share all the features of the apparatus and equipment we provide. She has been a vital part of our growing online success with vendors, customers and our sales staff alike.
Nick has been a part of the team since 2018 and in that time he has worn a few hats from building tanks and CNC work for our sister company G3 Fire and working in the Heiman warehouse to finding his way into the roll as Accounts Payable and helping with customer service.
Jasmine started with the Heiman team in 2023 and has been a great asset to the customer service and accounting team.
